As women, we have a lot to contend with in our busy lives. Whether its children taking our attention and or work commitments along with ageing parents needing extra care and attention. Not to mention the social conditioning and random people asking us silly questions or commenting on our weight, career or relationship choices. I mean it really is nobody’s business if you are single or  chose not to have children or god forbid, have pursued your life’s path in a different direction than they would have.

They wish they had your life and try to make you feel guilty or inadequate for choosing your joy. This is why we end up people pleasing and holding in all the rage that we let build up inside. We end up at the bottom of the pile and are often depleted in energy and feeling the effects of burnout, trying to juggle everything and keep our head above water.

There’s always something that takes us off track of looking after our own needs first and prioritising self care. Well let me tell you that selfcare is not selfish and you need to fill you own cup before you can help others. If you’re running on empty then you’re already in the danger zone.

You may be experiencing an empty nest where your child has moved out and now your world has been turned upside down. You no longer feel like you have a role or purpose in life. You may be grieving the loss of a loved one or the loss of your younger self as you transition into this new chapter.

This is Dr Louise Newson’s page and Balance website. She is a GP based in Warwickshire and has clinics nationwide. You can book a private consultation with a menopause doctor who can discuss your options and  prescribe your HRT initially. Then your own doctor should be able to honour the prescription moving forward.

The website has lots of FREE RESOURCES and an APP you can download to get information on the menopause and your questions answered.
